El Cerrito's Beginning Yoga Class is a demanding series of postures (asanas) and breathing exercises (pranayamas), which is suitable for all ages and levels of ability. Each posture stretches and strengthens specific muscles, ligaments and joints needed for the next posture. The practice also stimulates and recalibrates the entire mind, body & spirit to optimum balance & well-being.
In addition, the series of postures combines concentration, patience, determination and discipline, which lead to increased mental clarity and reduced stress.
Our beginning Yoga class is one size fits all. Every class is 90 minutes in length, the identical series done in a heated room (approximately 103F). No late comers are admitted as we lock the doors at class start time. The heated room will warm your muscles, prevent injury, allow a deeper workout and cleanse the body by flushing toxins.
